Water for injection (WFI) is water intended for the manufacture of dosage forms and water-soluble drugs (as well as for eye drops, irrigation solutions for washing wounds), and in which there must be no pyrogenic substances.
Water for injection is stored in special conditions that exclude the possibility of microorganisms entering it in the environment (aseptic conditions). Water for injection is suitable for the manufacture of appropriate dosage forms within no more than 24 hours from the moment of its receipt.
